Walmart Check Cashing Hours

After discovering that they are able to cash a wide variety of checks at their local Walmart stores, many people are eager to find out whether there are any specific times of day that they can take advantage of this service. While some branches may offer this service at virtually all hours, there may sometimes be limitations regarding when checks can be cashed.

Check Cashing 7 Days a Week

In most cases, Walmart check cashing hours will run between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM from Monday through to Sunday. This means that it is as convenient as possible for you to cash checks there whenever you need to. Some branches have the facilities available to cash checks 24 hours a day as well. However, there may be cases where these hours could change, so it’s important to always check before going your local branch to try and cash a check. In most cases, you will be able to cash your checks at any cashier point in-store, or you may be able to approach the money center for assistance. It’s also important to remember that you are not able to cash any personal checks at Walmart.

Fees Charged for Each Check

After finding out about the Walmart check cashing hours, most people want to know how much it will cost them to have their checks cashed. The good news is that fees are extremely affordable when cashing checks at this store. You will usually be billed $3 to cash checks of up to and including $1,000 in value, while you will pay $6 to cash checks from $1,000 to $7,500. However, it’s important to remember that if you have multiple checks that need to be cashed at the same time, you will be billed individually for each of them. This is a standard policy that is in place at all of the Walmart branches.

You are able to cash your check in 2 ways at Walmart – either receive the physical cash for it or have the value of the check loaded on to a Walmart MoneyCard. However, if the value is loaded on to a Walmart MoneyCard, you will only be able to spend it at any of the Walmart branches around the country. You won’t be able to use the card anywhere else at all, which could be disadvantageous if you have to shop elsewhere as well.
